The Dominica Watersports Association Presents

DIVE FEST 2011 8th–17th fri–sun Dive Fest XIX Week-long annual event that celebrates Dominica’s expansive marine and watersport offerings while educating participants our marine life. The schedule is tentative, check back at www.divefestdominica.com and at Dive Fest on Facebook to confirm events. Dominica Watersports Association (DWA) 8th friday DIVE FEST XIX Dive Fest Press Launch Official start of Dive Fest, with press launch. 10 a.m Fort Young Hotel, Victoria St., Roseau Dive Fest Happy Hour Happy Hour event with door prizes and giveaways Dive Fest, 1 free drink and happy hour prices all night. Dance to follow with music by Fanatik Band. 6 p.m–2 a.m • $20 Fort Young Hotel, Victoria St., Roseau 9th saturday DIVE FEST XIX Discover Scuba Get an introduction to scuba diving in the pool. Minimum age is 8. All participants must sign waivers. Minors (under age 8) require parental signature. Take a photo with the Jewellers International Swiss Army Victorinox mermaids. 9 a.m–2 p.m • Free Anchorage Hotel, Castle Comfort (448-2639) & Purple Turtle Beach Beginner’s Dive A chance to try out what you’ve learnt on a reef dive and explore the marine life. Minimum age is 12. All participants must sign waivers. Minors require parental signature. 9 a.m–2 p.m • $50 Anchorage Hotel, Castle Comfort (448-2639) & Purple Turtle Beach 10th sunday DIVE FEST XIX Discounted Whale Watch An opportunity to see the whales at a very discounted price. 9 a.m • $50 What is the price for kids? Call Daryl to confirm Departs from Anchorage Hotel, Castle Comfort (448-2639) 11th monday DIVE FEST XIX Sealife Camera Shoot Out and dive with the mermaids Certified divers get to try out the latest Sealife cameras on a dive. Best photos could win cool prizes at the photo awards ceremony on Friday. 8 a.m & 2 p.m. • Add $50 in addition to your normal dive price. Cabrits Dive, Picard, Portsmouth (445-3010) 13th wednesday DIVE FEST XIX Discover Scuba Get an introduction to scuba diving in the pool. Minimum age is 8. All participants must sign waivers. Sealife Camera Shoot Out and dive with the mermaids Certified divers get to try out the latest Sealife cameras on a dive. Best photos could win cool prizes at the photo awards ceremony on Friday. 9 a.m–2 p.m • Free Sunset Bay Club & Seaside Resort, Coulibistrie (446-6522) 14th thursday DIVE FEST XIX Sealife Camera Shoot Out and dive with the mermaids Certified divers get to try out the latest Sealife cameras on a dive. Best photos could win cool prizes at the photo awards ceremony on Friday. 8 a.m • Add $50 in addition to your normal dive price Dive Dominica, Castle Comfort (448-8710) Johnny Walker Jing Ping Ting A chance to relax with the dive masters with live Jing Ping music, food and 2 complimentary drinks. 7 p.m. • $40 Evergreen Hotel, Castle Comfort (448-3288) 15th friday DIVE FEST XIX Sealife Camera Award Ceremony Sealife Camera photo exhibition and Happy Hour. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the week-long photo contest. 7 p.m. Anchorage Hotel, Castle Comfort (448-2639) 16th saturday DIVE FEST XIX Kids Snorkel Treasure Hunt Underwater treasure hunt held in the shallow water along the shore where the children will snorkel to find prizes. All done under the watchful eyes of the Divemasters. Minimum age 8. 11 a.m–1 p.m. • Free Irie Safari, Champagne, Pointe Michel (440-6505) Wine Cruise Sunset cruise along the coast with wines to sample and light snacks. 5:30–9:30 p.m • $50 Soufrière Fish Fest Village party with a myriad of dishes made with local fish. 8 p.m.–2 a.m. • Free Soufrière Beach, Soufrière 17th sunday DIVE FEST XIX Kubuli Carib Canoe Race 4-man relay race in traditional Carib canoes. Teams battle for the trophy and bragging rights. Anyone can join the private team races for $25. Corporate team reservations $100; please book in advance, employees only. Race times are set, late teams will be disqualified. Trophy and prize giving after 1–6 p.m • Free Soufrière Beach, Soufrière Soufrière Kubuli Beach Party Beach party to mark the end of Dive Fest on the beach at Soufrière. 6 p.m–Midnight • Free Soufrière Beach, Soufrière
