What to Do For A Day in Dominica



Several Cruise Lines call in to Dominica. The busiest time of year is from mid-November to mid-April.

There are three Cruise Ship Berths in Dominica:

  • The Bayfront in Roseau, the capital
  • Deep Water Harbour, Woodbridge Bay - just 5 minutes north of Roseau.
  • The Cabrits in Portsmouth - about an hour's drive north of Roseau.
If your ship calls to the Roseau area, there are many things to do in and around Roseau. Several of Dominica's unique attractions can be reached from Roseau on a short bus ride. Browse the What to Dosection below.

Near the Roseau River at the northern end of town:

  • Fruit and Vegetable Market Saturday, closed Sunday), Post Office

On the outskirts of Roseau:

  • Botanic Gardens and Parrot Research Center
  • The Morne - beautiful scenic views of Roseau. Climb the path through the Botanic Gardens (takes 20 minutes) or take a Bus Tour.
