Nearby attractions include the therapeutic sulphur springs,diving at Champagne Beach, and bird and whale watching. Many fine hiking trails are available, as are kayaking and fishing trips with the locals. Complete island tours and transportation are readily available.

Sightseeing
Learn to dive and explore our crystal clear waters as well as one of the best diving spots in the world, off Scott’s Head. Snorkeling is also an option, either from the shore or from a local boat. Take a whale-watching excursion and visit with whales and friendly dolphins. Explore any of our 365 rivers, all different and cool waters, nice for bathing and sunning. We also have hot waters, in the form of volcanic springs, sure to cure any aching muscles, which you just might have if you hike the Boiling Lake!
Hiking to the Boiling Lake is worthwhile, yet not for the out-of-shape. There are plenty other hikes to take, though, on our mountains, through the rainforest or just from village to village. Enjoy our flora and fauna as well as our fascinating birds. Even the little geckos and colourful bugs are fun to observe.
Many of our beaches are rocky yet usable, but Dominica also has nice sandy cove-type beaches as well as black volcanic sand beaches. The waters of the Caribbean are wonderfully refreshing, cool and warm currents gently brush your body as you swim.
If you are into mountain biking, or just biking in general, you will find plenty of stretches of road mountain on which to practice your sport. Other activities available: tube rafting, horse riding and jeep-type adventure trips into the interior of Dominica.
Enjoy the local fruits, juices, vegetables and Caribbean dishes– the fish is great here! Eat lunch at roadside vendors or snackettes. At nighttime in the villages, enjoy local music and dancing in the streets.
