About
Location:
Batibou Bay
Description:

One of Dominica’s nicest beaches, it is reached via a poor 1-mile long track that requires a 4WD vehicle. Look for the 15 miles from Portsmouth milepost. The land around the beach is privately owned and there is a small fee for vehicles to enter but free to walk. A small gazebo/beach bar is usually open everyday (weather permitting).  Although on the Atlantic a reef bar allows for generally calm waters.

The land bounding with the beach is all privately owned. Sometimes the gate to the access road is locked, which means a 15 - 20 minute walk down to the beach.

Caution:

If the sea appears to be too rough exercise extreme caution with swimming. There can be undertows and strong currents not recommended for those inexperienced with these waters.
