National Click Day is almost here!

As part of the National Photographic Challenge (NPC), Dominicans are being asked to click, click, click with their digital cameras this year on Creole Day.

Irvin Durand, NPC Coordinator, asks that all Dominicans help to begin a practice of documenting our environment, giving birth to a national archive with images representing our national click day theme: “A Day in the Life of Dominica.”

The NPC is a programme established to raise awareness of photography and the visual arts as a career path for the youth, to highlight certain issues within the visual arts industry such as copyright and ethical considerations, and to help establish Photo Clubs throughout Dominica in schools and villages.

The NPC has several categories under which you can submit your photographs:

  • Wildlife & Nature
  • Looking Out
  • Reflections
  • Community Event
  • Having Fun
  • At Work/Church/School
  • Art & Architecture

>> Read more about the NPC on the Reunion website

But on Friday, get out and shoot Creole Scenes!

Send your photos to one of the following addresses and please include a title for each your
submission along with the name of the photographer.

The NPC is also calling for donations of digital cameras for Dominica’s (78) seventy-eight schools. To donate a camera, please drop it off at the office of Photoworld Imaging at 23 King George V Street, or at the Reunion 2008 Office, 1st floor, Financial Center.
