Our National Symbols

 

The Wob Dwiyet dress (creole, from the French 'robe douiette') is part of Dominica's national costume, and the annual Miss Wob Dwiyet competition is part of our Independence celebrations (see our Events page). The competition highlights both our national costume and the talents of our young people. Miss Web Dwiyet aims to take this into cyberspace - both to highlight our heritage and bring an aspect of our culture to our friends around the world! This site will also feature other aspects of our Independence festivities.
