Just returned from
Dominica with family. An exciting time - during festivities/independence
celebrations, etc. Short stay - hated to be wrenched away. Need to return
asap to top up. God bless our beautiful country & people. I
want to say "HI" to all the friendly people there on the island.
I was there doing a project for a friend, Ron Abraham, of MARPIN. Do you
know him??I beleive he is quite popular there. Well, while I stayed there
I had a great time jumpin' around the island. And drinking "KUBULI"
beer, I could just taste it now. Everyone was so friendly to me. I hope
to visit soon. If anybody know Ron tell him Chuck said "hello"
from (at that time TELLABS). Pass him my email. THANK YOU!! DOMINICA!!
For a wonderful experience!!! Hi everybody in Dominica, the most beautiful island I've ever seen. I am German, living in the capital Berlin. I visited Dominica twice, long ago (1978 and 1982), for a little student filming and for botanical studies and found so many lovely people in Dominica, especially within the Carib Indian community, I was able to live within. Greetings to all the lovely people who maybe remember me and my girlfriend Marion. Hope to see this paradise again one day. Good luck for the hurricane season to all of you Dominicans. Martin Pfitzer < pfitzer.m@zdf.de I am a St. Lucian journalist who has had the opportunity of working with Dominican artistes. First it was Nasio Fontaine in 1997 and later that year it was the Waitukubuli Dancers, and in 2003 Nelly Stharre and her band. I wish that any of the Waitukubuli Dancers, f or I have lost track of them and would like to know if the group is still in existence. I have had pleasant experiences working with Dominicans and I am available to any who would like to contact me. Robertson S. Henry < robertsylvanus@yahoo.co.uk> Enjoyed your site. I am American but I knew some people from Dominica. Came on to the site to post a message for someone that I met from there 20 years ago. We were friends in France. Would love to get more information on the Caribs of Dominica to share with my Belizean 'Garifuna' friends. Thora Johnson <savvysurvivor@yahoo.com> Read your great website history section with interest. I am related by marriage to a Doctor Rat of the early part of the last century who is listed on your site. My mother was born in St.Kitts and Dr.Rat married her aunt in St.Kitts. I did not know that Doctor Rat lived for a time in Dominica, nor did I know that he did work on the Cribe language - all very interesting. I did know of his work on "yaws". I am seeking information on the French that arrived in St.Vincent in the mid to late 1700. Some information on the French settlers of St.Vincent may be known to those in Dominica. If any historian can assist I would be grateful. Charles Loeber in New York City Charles Loeber <CLoeber@AOL.com> I'm trying to put together a family tree of the Bruno family from Mahaut/Warner.
