Derrick "De Hunter" St. Rose took away the crown from 1999 Winner Brancker "De Brakes" John with his very popular song, 'Dey Joking' and 'One Nation'.

De Brakes came in a close second with his popular 'Workers', while De Hurricane attained third position with 'Wounded Lion' and 'I owe it all to you'.

In the National Queen Show, 21 yr. old Darna Roberts (Miss DOWASCO) captured the Miss Domininica 2000 title.

She also took home the awards for Best Talent, Best Swimwear, and Best Evening wear.

Marayah Abraham (Ms. National Commercial Bank) came second and copped the best costume award while Valda Blackmoore (Ms. British Trade and Commerce Bank) came third and captured the Miss Photogenic Award.
